An experience to remember! We're a couple of friends unfamiliar with Slovenian wine, so when we sought an experience to understand and appreciate Slovenian wines, we couldn't have done better than with Boris. His love and passion for the wines of his country were easy to see. A fun moment was when he gave us each a blindfold for a taste test, and I think I need to drink wine like this from now on haha.. We felt that the session was a little rushed, but priceless nonetheless, and definitely recommended. You'll have a great time with the energetic, experienced and upbeat sommelier! Thanks, Boris, for giving us another reason to love Ljubljana!

The evening was wonderful. Hosted in a 300 year old cellar under a quaint bar next to the river. The setting is amazing and the wines are surprisingly good. Our host Boris is clearly passionate about Slovenian wines and his knowledge is outstanding. He explained all of the wines and the tastings are enough to get a good idea of just how good they are. The optional pairing with chocolate is a must do, as they complement the wines extremely well. The blind tasting of one of the wines is a bit of fun - something I have never tasted before. All together a great couple of hours of tasting wines from an area I was totally unfamiliar with. A must do when in Ljubljana.

This was one of the best wine tastings I've ever done - highly recommend this experience! You are led through a cute wine bar into a back room/wine cellar for the tasting, immediately setting the mood. Tina was incredibly welcoming and knowledgable - both about Slovenian wine and the history of Slovenia. The tasting was well-paced and included a variety of wines, one of which we tasted blind, which was fun. The wines were all from small family-owned wineries, which is most of what you apparently find in Slovenia, and were all delicious. The only downside was they are not widely exported - I will just have to return to Ljubljana for more!

We enjoy doing wine tastings where we travel to learn about the wines of that country. Since Slovenia doesn’t really sell any outside of the country it was a good opportunity to learn and taste. We were in a wine cellar several hundred years old and Boris did an excellent job explaining the industry and the background of the 7 wines we tasted. There was also pumpkin seed oil for dipping bread, nuts, dried fruit, cheese and olives. Boris made the event a lot of fun and even did a blind tasting of the orange wine. A wonderful evening and we highly recommend it!

Marvelous and fun two hours of wine tasting consisitng of at least seven wines, accompanied by a small tasting platter, and with additioanal wines in accordance to our preferences. Boris, the host, was charming, enthusiastic and perfectly answered all our questions while the setting of the underground wine cellar was enjoyabble and really atmospheric. We feel we've learnt a lot about some of the best Slovenian wines and it was really great that we were able to buy our most liked ones immediately and the place. Highly recommend this event!

To start by saying that Slovenian wines are significantly under-rated would be a severe understatement. So, if you get a chance to have the experience of trying several different types of wine from the country while having some snacks in a cool centuries old cellar, then you go for that. With the slotted wines and a few others, you can "upgrade" to try, we had 9 tastes in all. Even ones we did not expect to appreciate were good. The host, Boris is knowledgeable and engaging and gives lots of information about the wines and Slovenia. I feel like we learned a lot....or would have were it not for the 9 tastings. A very nice experience that really highlights what the country has to offer to wine drinkers.

This was a real wine tasting not a tourist party. We tasted 7 wines from several different Slovenian wine regions. You get enough nibbles to cleanse the palate but not for a meal. Our sommelier was knowledgeable, personable, and had great English. It’s what I had hoped for but didn’t expect. If you want to further your understanding of Slovenian wine this is the best way.

I have done and seen already more wine tastings in several countries, but Boris took this very serious. We tasted 7 different wines, starting with a light Zelen wine over a surprisingly elegant Riesling, a fabulous orange wine, a (secret) rosé and two red wines to end up with a sweet wine. He explained all this in a very enthousiast way so we know and understand more about Slovenian wines now. I can highly recommend this experience!

This is a must do in Ljubljana if you want to try Slovenian wine! Boris is fantastic and takes you on a journey through the different wine regions of Slovenia all while sitting in a “secret” Roman cellar you’d never expect to be there. The wines were diverse, great for any palette, and certainly unique to Slovenia. If you don’t know what Orange wine is, then you absolutely cannot say no to this experience. The groups are small and the wine and light bites are delicious.

The experience was very unique and one of the best wine tastings I have been on. The wines we tasted and the snacks to accompany them were incredible. We highly recommend you also do the chocolate paring. You will not be disappointed. The space is a super old, original, Roman era cellar with all kinds of fascinating details. You will love this experience.

We booked a wine tasting with Boris very last minute after other plans in town fell through. We could not have been happier with our choice. Boris escorted us and a 2 other people down into the cellar, and presented us with our tasting setup. He had put out a very solid spread (bread, cheese, dried fruit) to accompany wine tasting, which we appreciated after we were a few wines in. We had 7 different wines on the tasting menu, all of which we really enjoyed; even varieties that we were not typically fans of. Boris gave us a lot of history about all of the different wines from Slovenia and presented them in a really fun way, all without any of the pretentiousness that can come with wine tastings. This is an absolute must-do experience if you enjoy wine at all. PS. Be sure to bring an extra €6 for the chocolate tasting! We thought it was great!

Our guide to Slovenian wines, Boris, was a passionate and well-informed wine lover that made the whole experience both entertaining and interesting. As a wine aficionado myself, I often go to tastings and Boris is way up there – in wine knowledge but especially in presentation and enthusiasm. The cellar has a great deal of history to it and Boris did a great job educating us on the different wines and the regions they are from in Slovenia. Our guide was really entertaining, it was a very informative experience. Also a lot of fun, a wine tasting with a couple of nice surprises. The room is small but cosy and for the appetizers you can expect a plate of olives, cheese and some dry fruit and nuts. Wines were amazing, the same as our guide, he was really passionate about his job and wine. If you have a couple of hours to spare from 17.00, i warmly reccomend attending this experience :) PS: the group was small, we were just 3 people there for the tasting, that was a big plus, as we had the time to ask any silly questions we had about wines.

We tried orange wine for the first time and fell in love with it - we had to stay for a couple of glasses after! In all this is a great value wine tasting that is very informative and fun. Boris takes you through the history of different grapes, regions and vineyards - he knows his stuff and it was great fun to learn from him. Highly recommend.
